We Are GLOBAL Women (WAGW) Vision Statement
Anchored in Cambridge’s globally recognised ecosystem of research, innovation, and investment, We Are GLOBAL Women (WAGW) connects leadership, evidence, and partnership to support inclusive growth and social resilience across regions and sectors.
Aligned with the UK Government’s investment in the East of England as a national growth region, WAGW serves as a convening platform where research, leadership, and capital combine to generate scalable social and economic impact.
Our Purpose
We Are GLOBAL Women was founded in response to a structural gap - not between women and men, but between leadership potential and the systems that enable it to translate into lasting social and economic impact.
Across regions and sectors, women are leading critical work in business, technology, health, education, policy, and community life. At the same time, men are navigating rising psychological pressure, social dislocation, and changing expectations in ways that affect families, workplaces, and public discourse.
Too often these realities are discussed separately - or framed in opposition - limiting our collective ability to reduce harm, build trust, and create resilient societies.
WAGW exists to do the opposite.
Our work focuses on creating the infrastructure that allows leadership, evidence, investment, and collaboration to connect more effectively.
Policy Engagement and Evidence
The development of the WAGW platform has been informed by early engagement with national policy discussions on gender equality, leadership, and social impact. The founder has contributed to the early-stage development of the Women on Boards CIC Think Tank, which was formally launched at the House of Lords in September 2025 as an All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), bringing cross-party parliamentary attention to issues of representation, leadership, and governance.
This experience reinforces WAGW’s focus on producing rigorous research, white papers, and policy-informed insight through its flagship initiative, The Gender Bias, Mental Health & Social Harm Think Tank, ensuring alignment with emerging UK government priorities and international policy agendas.
Our Founding Premise
Our founding premise is simple and inclusive:
Sustainable progress depends on collaboration across genders, sectors, and disciplines - and on creating the infrastructure that allows leadership, insight, and investment to connect effectively.
We Are GLOBAL Women is not a women-only platform. Nor is it a network built on grievance or division.
It is an enabling platform that centres women’s leadership while actively engaging men as partners, allies, leaders, and contributors.
Our work is grounded in the belief that gender equality, mental wellbeing, and social cohesion are shared challenges - and shared responsibilities.
Platform Structure
WAGW is designed as an umbrella platform that brings together leadership, evidence, investment, and policy influence. At its core sits our flagship initiative:
The Gender Bias, Mental Health & Social Harm Think Tank.
The Think Tank provides the intellectual, research, and policy engine of WAGW — generating multidisciplinary evidence on how gender bias, mental health, social narratives, and digital environments interact to produce harm or resilience.
It ensures that WAGW’s work is not driven by ideology or optics, but by data, lived experience, and prevention-focused insight.
The Think Tank brings together expertise from academia, policy, business, health, technology, and civil society to develop prevention-focused solutions grounded in evidence, lived experience, and cross-sector collaboration.
Twin Engines of Impact
Together, We Are GLOBAL Women and The Gender Bias, Mental Health & Social Harm Think Tank operate as twin engines of impact:
The Think Tank generates research, multidisciplinary insight, and policy relevance.
We Are GLOBAL Women translates that knowledge into partnerships, leadership collaboration, investment pathways, and scalable initiatives - using its convening power to bring leaders together across business, education, government, and the community.
This model enables WAGW to move beyond discussion into implementation - connecting research to capital, leadership to institutions, and social insight to measurable outcomes.
Our Objectives
Through We Are GLOBAL Women, we aim to:
• Enable women-led and mixed-gender initiatives to scale by connecting them with investors, institutions, and partners aligned with long-term impact and social value.
• Act as a trusted convenor across business, government, academia, health, technology, and civil society - reducing fragmentation and increasing collective effectiveness.
• Create an inclusive leadership ecosystem that recognises the role of men and women in shaping healthier cultures, workplaces, and communities.
• Translate complex social challenges into investable, prevention-focused opportunities, particularly in areas such as mental health, digital harm, equality, and violence prevention.
• Support place-based and regional momentum, helping cities and regions become hubs of collaboration where leadership, research, and investment reinforce one another and generate national and global relevance.
Alignment with Global Priorities
WAGW aligns closely with emerging national and international priorities around inclusive growth, mental wellbeing, online safety, violence prevention, and social resilience.
We believe these agendas are most effective when women’s leadership is enabled - and when men are engaged not as adversaries, but as essential partners in change.
This is not about symbolic inclusion or performative allyship. It is about building the conditions in which leadership of all genders can thrive - responsibly, ethically, and at scale.
Founding Partnership Opportunity
As a Founding Partner, you are not supporting a single programme or campaign.
You are helping to build a long-term platform that connects leadership, research, policy insight, and investment to address some of the most complex social challenges of our time.
Founding partners play a formative role in shaping the direction, credibility, and impact of this emerging ecosystem.
Together we aim to build a platform that does more than respond to social challenges — one that enables earlier intervention, smarter investment, and healthier outcomes for individuals, organisations, and communities.
This partnership supports the development of the We Are GLOBAL Women platform and its flagship Think Tank.
We Are GLOBAL Women is an independent initiative which intends to become a CIC once Founding Partners are in place.
